MVI’s Regional Development Committee (RDC) was established for the purpose of prioritizing real estate and community development projects within the Mon Valley region. This includes housing, commercial real estate, business development, and planning projects for possible pursuit by MVI. Included in the role of RDC is serving as a catalyst to bring the most up-to-date recommendations and best practices for redevelopment efforts to local stakeholders, as well as the MVI Board of Directors.

A critical aspect of encouraging sustainable, equitable redevelopment is ensuring that proper conditions exist in which residents are given the opportunity to succeed and outside investment is more likely to occur. Therefore, RDC acts as a forum for discussion not only for redevelopment opportunities, but also the social and economic conditions of Mon Valley communities.
