Residents of the Steel Valley area on low or fixed incomes and who need assistance preparing their tax returns can get free, professional help during a clinic planned in Homestead.
The free tax clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 16 at the Mon Valley Initiative, 305 E. 8th Ave.
Appointments are necessary and may be scheduled by calling 2-1-1 from any phone.
Income restrictions do apply, a spokesman said. To qualify for the help, you must have had a total household income of less than $45,000 in 2017, or an individual income of less than $25,000.
Parking is available in the borough lot at the corner of East Seventh Avenue and Ann Street, and the office is located on several bus routes, including the 59 and 61.
The tax clinics are sponsored in part by MVI, the Human Services Center Corp. of Turtle Creek and the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania.
