Hiring: Employment & Financial Coach (Homestead, PA)

Supervisor: Director, Workforce Development & Financial Coaching

Location: Homestead, PA (3 days on-site, 2 days remote)

FLSA: Exempt

Starting Salary: $50,000-$55,000

Position Summary:

This position will work with participants enrolled in the Workforce and Financial Coaching Program in MVI’s Homestead office, assisting with finding and retaining employment, providing fundamental financial education services, making referrals for basic needs, and helping with other income supports. This role also partners with fellow team members to carry out all other functions and activities of the Workforce and Financial Coaching Program listed below.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Enroll and process assigned participants into the MVI Workforce Development Program.
  • Develop understanding of employment-related strengths and barriers of participants to assist in placing them into employment.
  • Provide financial education services to MVI-enrolled participants including budgeting, obtaining credit reports, assisting with a credit repair plan, financial coaching/planning, financial goal setting, and effective follow-up services.
  • Collect relevant program participant data and accurately enter it into MVI’s Salesforce data management system, as well as other data tracking systems as required.
  • Provide career development services in the Homestead office and off-site Mon Valley locations as assigned.
  • Assist in coordinating and facilitating MVI Job Club meetings.
  • Assist in defining objectives for the Employment and Financial Coaching program.
  • Other duties as assigned by management of the Employment and Financial Coaching program.
  • After the initial training period, this position can be in our Homestead office three days per week and remote two days per week.

Education & Experience:

  • College degree and/or significant experience in the field of human services, social work, or workforce development.
  • Significant case management experience with individuals facing barriers to self-sufficiency.
  • Experience with volunteer organizations and/or community-based organizations.
  • Experience that indicates an ability and willingness to work on behalf of others, particularly vulnerable populations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate well with persons of diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated problem solver – results-driven and goal-oriented.
  • Willingness to travel locally and/or regionally throughout the Mon Valley.
  • Team player who demonstrates positive, cooperative work style with other team members.
  • Background in financial-related services is a plus.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other customer relationship management platform is a plus.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and/or Creole is a plus.

Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends.
  • Full-time access to a vehicle with valid driver’s license and car insurance.
  • Position includes frequent standing, walking, verbal communications, including telephone contact, and travel between facilities.*
