The traditional gift for a 30th anniversary is a pearl. And as everyone knows, it takes time — and grit — to produce one.
It’s taken time and grit for Mon Valley Initiative to persevere and thrive since our founding on Dec. 1, 1988. That makes our upcoming annual dinner and community awards banquet a special occasion.
Please plan to join us at 6 p.m. Oct. 18 at the award-winning Sunset Room, located just off Route 48 in Elizabeth Township, as we honor our community partners and volunteers whose hard work and cooperation have made MVI so successful.
We’ll be honoring Pittsburghers for Public Transit with our Regional Partnership Award and Laurel Shaw Randi of the McCune Foundation with our Sen. H. John Heinz III Award for Community Service.
Our master of ceremonies for the evening will be Woodland Hills School District native and Pittsburgh broadcaster Larry Berger, creator and host of “The Saturday Light Brigade,” which airs live from the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh every Saturday morning over radio stations in Pennsylvania and four other states.
Tickets are $35 and include a buffet-style dinner. Reservations are due by Oct. 5.
We look forward to seeing you Oct. 18!
