Tracey Reaves, MVI’s director of workforce and business development, joined other local professionals recently for a panel discussion convened by the Jefferson Regional Foundation.
Sarah Welch, director of the Career Development Center at Jewish Family & Community Services in Hazelwood, presented information about the center’s regional workforce needs assessment, which was funded through the Jefferson Community Collaborative.
Reaves discussed the results of the JFCS assessment, along with Eric Ewell, director of continuing education at Penn State Greater Allegheny, Charlene Newkirk, president of CCAC’s South Campus, and Kevin Rice, executive director of Steel Center for Career and Technical Education.
During the meeting, held Jan. 23 at AHN’s Jefferson Hospital, other participants in the Jefferson Community Collaborative also discussed topics such as the importance of the 2020 U.S. Census to the Mon Valley area, and provided updates on their work in areas relating to education, nutrition, mental health and community engagement.
