Our workforce team sets individuals up with a personal coach who can help with their resumes, connect with employers from a variety of industries, evaluate their personal finances, apply for public benefit programs, and more. All of our services at MVI are free of charge.

• Career coaching and job placement – MVI’s workforce program is set up to help each individual identify their own skills, talents, and barriers to employment. This allows them to understand what kind of jobs they could potentially excel in and enjoy. Following a program orientation, each participant is set up with an MVI Employment and Financial Coach who will work with them 1-on-1 throughout their journey.

• Financial coaching and education – Our coaches also provide 1-on-1 coaching for people who have bad credit or no credit, or who need help managing personal finances, including advice on how to navigate banks and other financial services. We help participants create a budget and set personal financial goals that they can meet and exceed.

• Supporting re-entry to the workforce – MVI’s staff can help individuals who are re-entering the workforce from incarceration or who are dealing with prior convictions. We also bring together local employers in our Southwestern Pennsylvania Re-entry Coalition (SPARC) to provide formerly incarcerated individuals with the services and resources they need.
