MVI welcomes new staff and board members

Monet J. Ham, MVI Board Member

After having served on MVI’s Regional Development Committee (RDC) for two years, Monet joined the Board of Directors in 2024.

A graduate of Duquesne University and resident of Wilkins Township, Monet has been a real estate developer and real estate investment manager for over 10 years, including owning and managing properties in the Mon Valley. She brings extensive experience in strategic planning and cost-benefit analysis in the construction, real estate, and insurance industries.

Monet enjoys problem solving, numbers, mystery movies, and anything database related. One of her favorite quotes is from Dr. Seuss which says, “You have to be odd to be number one.”


Godfrey Bethea, Jr., MVI Board Member

Godfrey Bethea, Jr. joins the MVI Board of Directors as an experienced Certified Diversity Leader and human resources professional. He is currently the Vice President of Equity, People and Culture for Greater Pittsburgh Area Food Bank where he leads the strategic oversight and solutions to advance the Food Bank’s equity and social justice commitments.

Godfrey received his MBA degree from Waynesburg University. He was recognized by Marquis Who’s Who as a Distinguished Humanitarian in 2022 and is a recent graduate of Pittsburgh’s esteemed Leadership Pittsburgh cohort program.

An Eastern Pennsylvania native, Godfrey currently resides in Pittsburgh with his wife and three children.


Matthew M. Brockman, Employment & Financial Coach (Charleroi/Mid-Mon)

Matthew Brockman joins MVI as our Employment and Financial Coach in our Charleroi Mid-Mon office, helping individuals find careers, manage their finances, navigate government benefits, and more.

A graduate of California University and University of Maryland where he received his MBA, Matthew brings over 24 years of business experience, including 13 years in the nonprofit sector with former roles at Habitat for Humanity, Goodwill, and Salvation Army. He has served in a variety of leadership roles which seek to unite people from all parts of our communities to work together for the benefit of all.

Matthew has been a lifelong resident of West Brownsville where his family resides and has been involved with fraternal charitable organizations for the last 18 years.


Janice Joseph, Senior Fiscal Specialist

Janice Joseph joins the MVI team as its Senior Fiscal Specialist, responsible for supporting the organization’s financial and programmatic functions.

Prior to MVI, Janice worked in a number of educational environments, including for the Pediatric Residency Program at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and the Graduate Medical Education Fellowship program for the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She also has worked as a Paraprofessional Autistic Aid.

Janice has a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and currently resides in Pittsburgh. She is a proud Army parent and sports mom of three sons. She and her family enjoy going for bike rides, walks, and trips to the beach. Janice also enjoys nature, traveling, gardening, yoga, arts, music, and being creative.
